Explorations in Online Learning using Adobe Connect

Deirdre Sheridan Englehart

Abstract

This research was conducted with pre-service early childhood educators to gather their response to using Adobe Connect video conferencing platform as a way to facilitate synchronous class meetings in an Early Childhood Education Bachelor's Degree program. Two formats were used for the class meetings including classroom to classroom at two different college campus locations and online class meetings. The initial results indicate that many students enjoy the convenience of the Adobe system to have online class meetings but some students still feel that the interactions during the face to face meetings are important and are not fully supported when using Adobe Connect from one campus to another.
